Holaaaaa Familia!
This was a great week! We've been planning the wedding and the baptism and the party afterwards and everything, we're so excited!! I'm sending a picture of the invitation that the bishop made and handed out to the whole ward, they are so excited to have this attention from nice people! Maria and Miriam are sisters, and we found the two couples while knocking doors about the second week we were here, and we've been teaching them ever since! I will get to baptize them so I'll send pics of the wedding, baptism, and reception and everything! Its soooo COOL!!! This is a huge deal, haha--two couples with kids getting married and baptized.
We also found another cool old guy that's like 70 something, named Enrique, who came to church with us yesterday, and he reminds me sooo much of Grandpa Griffin, haha! I sat with him during sacrament meeting to help explain everything to him while Elder Johnson was sitting with our other investigators. He just kept saying "Why are there so many loud kids running around? Their parents need to control them...its the parents fault." Haha, super funny! But he's a good guy and we set a baptismal date with him on the 27. The Saturday after this one. Vamos Arriba!!! We're so excited to finally start getting baptisms. This is a really hard area and its been super stressful, but we're seeing success. :)
I love the ward and the people here. I wish I could just show you all how awesome it is here and how nice the people here are. Haha, we met with this sweet old recent convert lady that always gives us food when we go over, and she's always saying the funniest phrases. The other day we went to visit her and I had to use the bathroom really bad, so I asked her if I could use it and she said "Yes, of course." But, it had been raining harder than I have ever seen it in my life and we were soaked. As I was walking to the bathroom she said "Ahh esta bien mojado!" Which means "You're so wet!" And spanked my butt, hahaha! Some of the recent converts don't understand the rules that missionaries have, I guess.
I sent a pic of our house with all our stuff still in our bags and hanging on the walls. We still don't have anything yet, we take 30 second showers in the other Elder's house cause they have a tiny water heater. I haven't gotten any letters yet, but one of the zone leaders told me I have a bunch sitting in the mission office, so they should come next box. I hope! Yesterday was my 4 month mark. Crazy!!! Time is going fast. Well, some days, haha. All is well here, the weather is getting better. We're starting to head into spring now, so its getting a little more humid and warmer. There is a week called the Santa Rosa when it literally rains 24/7 all week, and it comes every year. Its coming! It'll be crazy. Anyway, I'm glad all is well at home and everyone is happy. That's crazy school is starting! I can't believe it. Well, gotta go, I'm running out of my half hour. I'm going to write and send some letters to ya'll. Love you all, read and pray every day!
Love you all, :)
Elder Griffin
