Hola mi familia, Como andan?
Thanks for the baptism pictures! They are awesome and I'm going to print them off and show them to people, haha! It sounds like everything went well and that she was finally able to get her cast off! That's awesome We didn't have any baptisms this last Saturday, but its okay, we're still chugging. We still have the three baptisms planned on the 20th, which will be amazing, and they're getting married on the 19th, which will be super awesome too! After the baptism on Saturday we're going to have a party for their baptism/wedding with a bunch of food and stuff, so it'll be great. This last week was a good week. We still don't have anything for the house but its okay, we're just going to be that much more grateful for when we do get it all! Today I found another huge spider on the kitchen floor. Its not even summer and there's nasty stuff crawling around. Its okay though, I love it. I'm still loving Uruguay, the people really are so nice here, except for when you want to talk about religion haha. But other than that, they are super nice and willing to do anything for you. I can finally speak well enough to put some personality into what I say, the first couple months were rough. I can't believe how much I've learned so quickly. Heavenly Father really, really, really helps missionaries learn languages fast! We finally got our box at the house for the first time in three weeks, but no letters were in it. But, I did get a package! Thanks so much, mom! That's exactly what I wanted after a long day of door slamming. That candy is great, and I'm so glad you sent something. Thanks so much and thanks for the stamps too. Sorry it stresses you out with the packages and stuff, its been a pain, but thanks a ton, love you! My glove ripped on a sharp barbed wire fence, and believe it or not somebody stole my other good one. I have no idea why someone would want one glove but they stole it. I bought some cheap wool type ones that work good for now. That's so cool that Josh was able to baptize Kam! Gosh dang it, he got a baptism before me and I'm the one on the mission! Haha, just kidding. Its crazy how much opposition we have in this area. This zone right by Montevideo is one of the hardest in the whole mission, and the area that Elder Johnson and I have is one of the most difficult in the zone. We are trying sooooo hard, but its nearly impossible. There really is so much corruption here, its sad. But, the light at the end of the tunnel is Maria, Micheal, Miriam, and Micael, We're so excited for them!!! Vamos arriba!! Its crazy I've almost been out here for four months now, a week from yesterday. Crazy! I love it here. Love it! Oh, and thanks mom for all of the quotes you put at the end of the emails, I love em. It would be sweet if one day you could put them all in one email so I can print them out and put them on my wall by my desk. Anyway, I've gotta go, but I love you all and I'm glad all is well at home and everyone is being good! Thanks for all the support, it helps more than you know! No puedo esperar hasata yo puedo ver ustedes otro vez! Les quiero!!!
Love, Elder Griffin
