First Day

Well, its that time of year again!  School started last Monday for most of the kids, and Caden started kindergarten yesterday.  So, of course, that means "first day of school" pictures!  My older boys know I'm not letting them out of the house without a pic, so they just humor me so they can get out the door and not be late.  I'm glad they put up with me.  (It would be nice if you'd actually smile, Zac, but I'll take what I can get.)

get the picture-taking out of my system.

Lauren is starting seventh grade.  She's ready
for jr. high but I don't know if I am!

Kamryn is starting third grade at a brand
new school that was just built, with a fun,
new playground she's been dying to try out.

We're glad she's cast-free for school!

He's been really excited to start school, partly
because that means he gets to wear his new
Batman shirt.

 I wanted to drive him to school and take pictures of him with his teacher, and at his desk, and all that fun stuff.  But, he's been so excited to ride the school bus for the first time, he wouldn't let me take him.  So, then I thought, at least I'll walk him to the bus stop and take pictures of his first bus ride.  Turns out, I was not allowed off our property that morning.  He wanted me to stop at the fence in the yard and wave goodbye from there.  He knows what he wants, for sure!  He had his own plan for how the morning was going to go.  So, Coop and I sat on the curb at the edge of the yard and I wished I hadn't lost my good camera lens cause this one did not zoom to my satisfaction.  Oh well, he is a cute bugger, and I'm glad he has big sister Kam to show him the ropes at elementary school!

Poor Cooper didn't like being left out.  He
kept saying "When does my school start"?

He perked right up when I said it was time
for his back to school picture.  So, here's Coop,

all to himself for a few hours on the first
day of school.
