First of all, that is horrible what I read about Kamryn's arm! What the heck is going on back home? Sheesh! That's so sad, ha! Tell her I'm sorry! My goodness, I told my companion about that and he says to say get better!
So, I still have only half an hour...my mission pres is really strict. Really strict. So, we don't do anything that isn't in the white book, which is good, though. Today we got on a bus and came into downtown Montevideo to go to the doctor and get a checkup, and now I'm writing you all at a Cyber in this MASSIVE mall that is 10x bigger than our mall. If I didn't know I was in Uruguay, I swear I would think I was in the U.S. Its weird how everything is so Americanized. Anyway, this week has been really good. I forgot my camera to send pics, but I will next week for sure. We're actually moving to a new house this week because ours is falling apart, so hopefully this one is better.
Our area is called San Jose de Carrasco 2, and its massive. Elder Johnson and I split it into like 6 sectors to try and manage it better and we've only got around to visiting 2. This change is a whitewash, which means for some reason or another, the missionaries in this area before us got kicked out, and didn't leave us any investigators or anything, so we've really been struggling to get some investigators so we can get started but its been tough. We've definately been blessed though, cause we are planning on committing two people to baptism this week. Our area touches the beach but we haven't been there yet, we're going to go explore today. We also have tons of campo, or farms and fields and parks, tons of palm trees and all dirt roads. This is the exact type of area I was hoping for, so I'm lucky! It takes 25 minutes to walk from our house to our area, so we do a ton of walking, but its awesome. Church yesterday was great, we have about 140 people in our ward that actually come, which is a ton. Except yesterday it was literally pouring rain, so we only had like 30, haha, but its OK. But as far as mail goes, Elder Johnson is our district leader so he gets the mail every week, so just mail it to the mission home....packages and mail, and then we get it every week and distribute it to our district. Also, I'm still going to just mail using my US stamps, like I did in the MTC, its the same way, but I'm running out of stamps so I may need more US stamps later on. I haven't gotten my package yet, but I will eventually. Anyway, I hope all is well at home! Gotta run! Tell Kamryn to get better and be happy!
Love you all,
Elder Griffin
