Oh good morning everyone!
This was a good week! Yesterday for church was freezing cold, and hardly anyone came to church, but we had a good afternoon even though it was rough in church. The other elders in our house had a baptism so that was good! I'm still enjoying being where I'm at, it's stressful haha but it's okay. It keeps me focused. It's getting pretty cold lately. Today it isn't so bad, but on Thursday morning there was frost covering everything, which is super rare with the humidity here, so it was crazy! It's still kind of like fall here, winter hasn't quite come yet but we are definitely getting there, I remember last year on the fourth of July it was freezing! So yeah we are close haha. Unfortunately wood costs a lot here to burn, so we don't really use the fireplace, but it's okay cause we really are never home anyway.
So what we eat here: it depends. The members usually always give us rice with milanesa (fried chicken), or mashed potatoes, or a salad with random mixed vegetables, or in the winter they give us stew a lot with chunks of random meat in it. They give us soup a lot too. It's really yummy! Sometimes they will just give us money and we'll order a pizza or something haha. A lot of times they give us Fideos con tuco ( spaghetti type stuff) which is good. The food really is good here, it just doesn't have much flavor haha. But I like it! When we are alone we usually make spaghetti or rice or milanesas or eggs.. idk. random cheap stuff haha.
Okay mom, I have a request. There is no urgency on this but I've been craving it for months... A big plastic jar of creamy peanut butter haha Skippy or whatever brand, doesn't matter. Also, a bottle of maple extract so I can make maple syrup for pancakes. (They don't sell any of this stuff here). I would be so grateful! Just so you know haha:) I've still got 100 packs of gum and cooking seasonings and candy and stuff so I don't need any of that. A pre-made cookie mix bag from Betty Crocker like the last ones you sent would be amazing too, I LOVED those. (All the fattening stuff) haha. But just some ideas for the next package whenever it may be. Thanks!!! Sounds like everyone is busy at home doing their stuff of the summer. Sounds fun!! That's cool the priests are going to Lake Powell again haha dang lucky. I wanna go.
So this change ends in a couple weeks and that is when the new president comes. Sad! Tomorrow we have the zone leader council in Montevideo, so tonight we leave at midnight for the 6 hour bus ride. Woohoo!! haha. I love it. It's the last one with The DaSilvas. The Hermana is TOTALLY going to cook something awesome for her last time haha. We're pumped for good food.
Anyway all is well here in Castagñet, Melo. I'm keeping warm and fed, and happy! I'm glad all is well at home and I hope everyone has an awesome summer! I hope grandma gets better I'll be praying for her. I love you all and miss you to death! The package should be getting there in a few days, if it does before next pday, enjoy! I hope you like it all. I did what I could haha.
