From Elder Griffin and Elder Griffin

I'm slow getting Ty's letter up this week, so here they are together:)

From Josh:

Selamat pagi, keluarga saya! Saya tahu ini awal, tetapi itu bagus! Saya sayang misi saya!
Hey guys!  How are all of you?  Thanks for sending me the letters and the e-mails and stuff.  I'm grateful for all of it, but I'm stuffed--all of my roommates moms and friends send us candy and food almost every day so we have a lot of junk food that we just share with everybody for all of our weekly celebrations!  Tomorrow is Minggu Lima, which celebrates the end of Week 5 and the beginning of Week 6!  Time has FLOWN in the MTC and I'm going to be out of here before I know it!  We're already more that halfway done with the MTC!  I'm so excited to actually go the country though, it's going to be  a blast.
Guess what?!?!?!  MAINLAND CHINA IS OPENING IN 5 MONTHS!!!!!!! AAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!  I can't believe it!  My comp's sister-in-law is Chinese and she told him, and all of the people that are getting called are staying in Taiwan until the Mainland opens up!  Zack!  I think you're going there!  All of the missionaries were going around yelling and celebrating and telling everybody and it was awesome!  We are all so happy about the people in China, because they are SO prepared to receive the Gospel!  To be honest, I thought that China wouldn't open up for like 20 or 30 years.  IT'S SO AWESOME!

And mom, be sure to thank Sister Spilker for me, she send me a HUGE package filled with food and candy!  It is gigantic!  And me and my roommates are having a blast!  I am on a computer that can send pics, so I'll send a few that I took.  And as for the cello music, I think that it might be in the living room, maybe in the piano bench? I'm not sure..... Maaf. (Sorry).  It's so good reading about the family!  Cooper, are you okay?  I freaking miss you dude!  I showed all of the people in my district your picture and they all love you!  Caden, what's up homie?  How's life going?  I miss you too! Kamryn, I know it's nasty, but the hand thing is true, and it supposedly works better than toilet paper, but I'm not really looking forward to it, I can tell you that much.  Lauren--where are you?  Zack, dude, I can't believe you're almost 16!  That's CRAZY!  Keep working on your Eagle, I'm SERIOUSLY way proud of you, bro!  And I miss you too!  Mom and Dad, thank you for helping me out so much!  I miss you guys!

Well, as previously stated, I am doing 3 or 4 Language Only (SYL) days a week, so today we're only speaking Malay, so this is probably the only English that I will do all day!  And guess what!  Jonles is getting baptized December 2nd and Sebastian went to church!  We still have to commit Sebastian to baptism and Jonles needs to get off work, but it will happen eventually. They will both get baptized on December 2nd if they can actually do what we are begging them to do.  So we've been teaching lessons almost every day in Malay, and then we have TRC where we just meet random people and talk to them and teach them in Malay for an hour.  So I'm prepping like 5 or 6 lessons per week!  It's hard, but it's hebat! (Awesome)  Well, I think I only have 27 days left in the MTC!  It's crazy how fast time has flown though!  We only have a month left!  Me and everybody else in my Zone are all anxious to go to Singapore and get working.  And Tyson sent me some letters that I actually got!  Thanks Tyson, I'm taking your thoughts to heart!  And I hope Nick is doing okay!  Work hard, Elder, Christ loves you!

Well, I miss you all and I'm super excited for China to open up! Zack, if you go there, me and you could speak to each other, unless you go Cantonese Chinese and not Mandarin. But you still might not go there, so we'll see in two years!

Saya perlu pergi, jadi sayang kamu semua, dan salamat tinggal!

Love you all,
Elder Joshua H. Griffin

From Ty:

Haha, that's so funny seeing Elder Burnett and Hermana Muier in my house!  I was Hermana Muiers district leader forever ago, she was an awesome missionary.  And I love Elder Burnett!   Haha, that's fun to see them, I'm glad they went over.  All the other elders in the office got a kick out of seeing too.  It's unreal seeing something like that for us.  Y bueno.. que va a hacer.

Well this week has been another amazing week here in Montevideo!  I got to go to the temple AGAIN if you can believe it haha.  President let us go on Thursday.  Yeah, awesome.  I like the perks haha.  We also get to go next week as a zone, and I'm going again with my comp Elder Curapil, who has a convert that's getting his endowments.  I don't know why the Lord is letting me go to the temple so often, when most missionaries only go twice in their whole mission.  But I won't complain!  I'm loving life:)  The Montevideo temple is so pretty.  We also had the zone counsel and with all the zone leaders here in Montevideo which was awesome.  Next week we have 3 days of temple trip conferences for the mission, and we get to teach in each of them, so it'll be fun!  We aren't having a ton of time in our own area, but we are seeing tons of miracles anyway.  We've been trying really hard to sneak out and work as much as we can.  We have a baptism next week!  Her name is Graciela and she is super awesome, comes to church without fail haha.  We've got a lot of other investigators that we are working with too.  So even though we don't have too much time in our area, the Lord is blessing us anyway!  I love the mission.

We have a big normal ward here, and our chapel is the main chapel that we do changes in and where the offices for the mission are, so it's really nice.  A huge change from anywhere else in my mission, haha.  I love it though, we have more food in our fridge than we can eat!  The members love the elders here.  Here in Montevideo the church functions more like it does in the States.  The interior areas of the country are getting there:)  My area is awesome, a lot of mass housing in huge towers and lots of homeless people and a lot of English speakers with massive houses too.  It's really diverse, we meet a lot of great people though!  It's been such an awesome experience working so closely with President Armstrong and his family, they are so awesome. Sometimes when we're at the mission home for meetings or whatever, he'll just pull a bunch of food out of the fridge for my comp and I and tell us to sit down and eat haha.  He's such a great man.  I don't feel like I deserve to be having such a good experience on my mission haha...I don't know how to explain it.. I mean, I feel like I'm on vacation, even when we are working and teaching and it's raining and we are soaked to death and exhausted and starving-- I have so much fun!  It's such a huge blessing.  I couldn't ask for more, I just hope that every missionary feels the same way about his mission.  Time is flying so fast it's scaring me haha.

So I got the package from you mom!  I'm going to get so fat.  I love it haha thanks.  I'm going to cook for everyone in the house now:)  Thanks.  Well, I'm out, but I love you all and I'm glad it's snowing in Utah!  It'll be a long time before I see snow again but whatever.  I'll wait I guess.  Chau!
