A crazy week here in Castillos. We've been working super hard in the sun, haha. It has been so hot here lately that the second we get out of the shower we're wet again. Gross, haha, I know. I've never felt like I'm swimming while walking in the street. So humid! We had a good week, rough, but good as always. Tomorrow we are going to Maldonado for a zone conference, so tonight we have to take a bus to Rocha to get there in time. All of our investigators are out of town, either woking out in the country or at the beach doing nothing, so we've had a looonnnng week in the streets! Luckily the Lord loves us and helped us find more people to teach, but holy cow. So we were walking in the main town of Rocha the other day for district meeting looking for a watch for my comp. We were walking down the sidewalk when we heard two girls say "hermanos!" which always happens, so we just kept walking. But then they said it again and were right behind us. One of them came up to me and asked me in Spanish were I was from, I said the United Sates, like I do 50 times each day, haha, and then they both started speaking in English to me and said "Us too! We're from Salt Lake!" Haha...all the way on the other side of the world and I meet someone who lives 45 minutes from home. They were just visiting Uruguay for a week. One of the girl's mother was from Uruguay, the other's father served a mission here in Uruguay. It was an interesting little encounter.
So, I think that dad will appreciate that here in Castillos, for some reason there are wild tomato plants that grow on the side of the road! WE LOVE IT! I love tomatoes obviously and I'm always eating the little cherry ones that we find . Its weird but hey, it reminds me of home. I know that I have a package and some letters in Rocha, But I don't know from who. I'll get them tonight. The picture that I'm sending with me and all the junk food is because we have a member lady that owns a bakery, haha. We're spoiled. The other is from when my comp and I went and sat out on our terrace one night after a long day and talked. I love my little comp. He's great. Well, I've got to go but I love you all and I'm grateful for every one of you!
