Well, Rob finally talked me into leaving the kids for a week. Actually, he didn't even talk me into it, he just booked the cruise and then told me about it on Christmas day, when it was already a done deal. I had six months to be excited about it!!! (I really mean worry about it!) I know I'm weird, but as my brother-in-law lovingly pointed out to me a few years ago, I am a Control Freak, yes, with a capital CF when it comes to my kids. I hate, hate, hate, being away from them. It's true, when Friday night rolls around, I'm ready for a date with Rob, but after a few hours, I'm ready to get back home. I really am a homebody. I freely admit it, and I also admit to the Control Freak thing.
Since our 2oth wedding anniversary is later this month, and I truly love my husband, I gave in and let him take me on a cruise to Alaska to celebrate 20 years of him putting up with me not wanting to leave the kids. Thanks, honey--you've been a trooper!
We left Tyson in charge of the little boys, had Josh and Zack spend the week with my sister and Rob's brother, (yes, they are married to each other) and Lauren and Kamryn went to Snowbird for the first half of the week with my parents and sisters, and then were at home with Tyson the rest of the week. I am thankful for the help from my family. It really helped to know the kids were in good hands. Tyson did a great job taking care of everything while we were gone!
Rob and I had lots of fun on our cruise and it was great to have some alone time. We saw lots of pretty scenery, and had a great experience. I know this sounds totally corny, but when we turned into our neighborhood Sunday evening, (our village, as Caden calls it) I really thought Maple Mountain was the best sight we had seen all week! I really missed the kids, and they missed us too. This homebody is glad to be home! But that doesn't mean I didn't have a great time...cause I did!!! Maybe in another 20 years I'll be ready to do it again!

Kristin,
Loved reading and seeing all about your cruise! I am totally a homebody too, but I am so glad you got away. Kelly and I have our 20th anniversary next spring and are wondering what to do. You are absolutely gorgeous and looked glamorous in jeans and all dressed up! Glad you could get away, thanks for sharing your trip.
