Hey, everyone, I hope all is well at home! All is well here, we just keep chugging along. So, I'm going to try to answer all of your questions from last week's email, along with telling you about this last week and stuff. So, this last week was good, we still haven't moved yet, we're waiting for the mission office to get our water heater and stuff before we can, but we have to move by the end of the month, so we're hoping they get everything. This last week we've just been working with our investigadores to try and help them progress towards baptism. We're still hoping that they can get baptized this Saturday, but some of them didn't come to church on Sunday, which was a huge bummer, cause they're so close, its frustrating. But, we are trying to have faith, they'll get baptized eventually. Sooner than later. On Wednesday it rained all day long. I took some video of it, it was crazy. Everything was soaked but we still had to go out and work. It did not stop raining for even 10 seconds the whole day. There were literally lakes in the roads. They have horrible drainage here, and it was windy, so our umbrellas didn't really do anything. The rain was coming sideways and we were soaked, my shoes were filled with water and my pants were soaked and my backpack too, and what made it even worse is all of our appointments fell through, so were were in the streets all day, hah. I slept very well that night. But, it was a good week. We found a couple of new investigators that are really cool, and Maria and Michael told us that they want to get married!!! Which means they can get baptized, and we showed Michael a picture of the Salt Lake temple and said he could get sealed in a temple some day, and he started crying. The mission is amazing. People physically and spiritually change right before your eyes and it's a miracle. So, yeah, this is the last week of the change (changes to every 6 seeks,) but we're pretty sure we'll stay together here cause its a whitewash. Anyway, so I'm going to try and answer some questions now from last week. Oh, and the mail, if you want to write me through the urumonte email...write before Friday, cause I get the box on Friday, and can't email till Monday, so if you email me on Monday through that email, I won't get it till the next week. You can write me any time on this email though, cause I just read it on the computer but its nice to get printed ones too! Dear Elder still works too.
It's good the strike is finally done! I'm lonely! Haha, just kidding, but it stinks not getting letters or anything. I haven't forever, from anyone! I can buy Uruguayan stamps here, but they take forever to get to the states. Most missionaries do it with US stamps, but we'll figure it out. I have a couple long sleeve shirts here so I'm okay for now, dang package, I want that!! You don't need to worry about me...I can buy anything I need in this area since its a richer area there's normal stores here, so don't worry. But...I would love a package, cram that thing FULL! PS you can send a normal box if you want, but maybe an envelope is easier, I don't know. On the outside, don't say whats in it, just say " materiales religiosos", and draw a couple of crosses on it and nobody will dare touch it.
I hope everything is good at home, sounds like the garden is doing well this year, I miss those good vegetables and stuff. It's cool that you get to go to Escalante, I miss that. Dad, I hope all is well with work. Thanks for all your support, it helps a ton to have a dad I can look up to. Thanks.
Well, I've got to go, but everyone be good and have a fun summer. I love you all! PS. I'm sending letters so I hope you get them some day, haha.
Love, Elder Griffin
