I am thrilled to say that mom is finished with radiation!!! She went five times a week for six weeks, and she got along just fine! She is glad to be done with her cancer treatments and is starting to feel like herself again. She is getting more energy back, and is excited to be able to start doing things she used to love to do. We are so happy for her!!! I know I'm using way to many explanation points but we're really happy she's done!!!
Alli went with her to her last treatment, which was done in American Fork. The radiation machine wasn't working in Provo. The nurse told her to make sure to celebrate, (I'm pretty sure they would have come to that conclusion on their own) so they went to lunch after with Lid and Catherine, who live in that neck of the woods.
She will go back every three months for an exam, blood work, and a visit with the doctor. They will keep a close eye on her and make sure she stays healthy. I will continue with the updates as she improves, gets her strength back, and goes to her appointments.
There is more exciting news to report--her hair is starting to grow back! We have been looking forward to spring, because it started falling out last fall, and we figured that in would start growing back in the spring, and here it is, starting to grow! Alli took some pictures of the last radiation treatment, and I'll post them when I get a hold of them!
