A Fun Farewell

The official taste testers--making fruit salad before the farewell.  They
licked every bowl clean!

Yesterday was Tyson's missionary farewell, and it was an awesome day.  He gave a really nice talk in church, and then we celebrated all day with our family, lots of friends, and tons of good food.  I spent the last few weeks baking and don't know how many pounds of butter, sugar, cocoa, and flour I went through, but what fun would life be without a little dessert?  (And if a little is good, a lot must be better...right?)  Our friends and family all brought delicious food to share and all I can say, is I am related to some good cooks.  Thanks to everyone for all of your help!

Tyson has had his mission call since December 15, so he is READY to go!  He is excited to preach the gospel to the people in Uruguay, and can't wait to get to Argentina to begin his time in the MTC there.  We know we will miss him, but we are all looking forward to this exciting time in his life and are thankful for the opportunity he has to serve the Lord.  We're proud of him and his decision and know that with his strong testimony and his willingness to work hard, he's going to be a great missionary.  I just hope I can handle
 "the goodbye"!

So, I am exhausted today, but yesterday was awesome.  I wanted to get more pictures after church, but never really made it out of the kitchen.  We are so thankful for our friends and family and the love and support we feel.  We are looking forward to this new experience!

What an awesome day! I can't believe how tall he is! You look absolutely beautiful. The family pictures are so sweet. I am looking to your example so when I'm doing this in a year I will have someone to follow.
