Anyway, the day after Thanksgiving we always go up in the mountains and cut down our Christmas tree. Some years, when there isn't much snow, it's pretty easy (and enjoyable). Other years, like this year, it can be quite the adventure (not so enjoyable).
The last few years, it was so easy that we forgot what a pain it can be in a few feet of snow. We didn't take snowmobiles this year, just the Excursion and a trailer. We got a little stuck and we were glad we had friends with us who could help! We all ended up going to lunch at the lodge at Daniel's Canyon and came home nice and full, but treeless. Rob and Zac went back up Saturday morning and after going through a stream and over a few hills, finally found a tree they liked. Cutting it down is the easy part. It's the decorating that's hard work! Oh well, the kids love this tradition. Every year I think, next year lets just go to the store and buy a perfect, symmetrical, pre-lit, easily assembled tree. But I get talked into this year after year. It's a ton of work, but I have to admit, I love it when it's all done!
and...hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!!!
