Tyson's mission call came yesterday!!! It was great timing, because he took his last final at Utah State yesterday, and made it home by 6:00. It was hard to wait, but we had some friends and family come at 8, and called my sister Emily in Colorado to listen in over the phone.
He was called to serve in the Uruguay Montevideo mission. He will speak Spanish, and will enter the MTC in Argentina on April 14. He is so excited, and so am I, but it's a lot for me to take in. I think it hasn't sunk in yet with all of the excitement! I was hoping he'd stay close. He really wanted to go foreign, and predicted he'd go to South America. It was a really neat experience watching him open that envelope!
We are so proud of him and excited for the opportunity he has to preach the gospel in Uruguay!

| A few paragraphs in, we realized Caden was in the basement so we had to stop and wait for him. He has been so excited, we knew we'd be in trouble if we did it without him! |

When we moved into our house almost nine years ago, we put these "missionary maps" in the hallway just off the kitchen. The kids walk by them every day and have all looked at them through the years and wondered where in the world they would be called on their missions. When we've had cousins serve missions, we've circled it on the map and left it there for the whole two years. This has been a fun thing to do and before Ty opened his call, everyone made their own predictions, circled it on the map, and put their initials next to it. We had a prize for the winner, and Tyson and his girlfriend were the closest. They both chose places in South America. It was a fun night and an awesome experience! We are so thankful for the gospel and we know Tyson is going to be a great missionary!

Kristin,
I love the video on this post. I read about his call on facebook, but it was so nice to see it played out live! I also totally love your "I hope they call me on a mission" wall. What a fun idea. I have never seen that before and I think it's fantastic. Great for mission prep and geography. :)
