From Elder Giffin: I Love This Area

Good Morning promised land!

Alright so this week was the bomb. Super busy, I lose track of the days haha. The week ends before I even know what's going on I swear!  So we went to Montevideo this Wednesday for the zone council which went really well!  We left at 12:30 in the morning/night like always, and got there to Montevideo haha. It was so cold when we got there. I forget how different it is closer to the ocean. Being in Melo out in the wilderness we don't feel the cold so much. But it was good! I love the new president and his family haha it's fun to be around them. They are really nice and loving and always do everything they can to make sure we are happy and healthy and baptizing! After the conference we went to Tres Cruces, the huge bus station and waited for our bus to leave back to Melo. We left at 5:30 and didn't get back home till a little after eleven. Ugh.Talk about a horrible bus ride. The worst haha but it's fun anyway:) I love life. Then the next day we had to travel MORE to do other baptism interviews for other district leaders in our zone. So we missed that whole day too. Our poor area has taken quite the hit lately haha we haven't been around much. Tomorrow we aren't going to be home either. We have changes in Montevideo, I'm staying in Melo another six weeks haha, wooo! It'll be the first area that I'll be in for four changes (6 months) I'm excited:) I love this area.

Oh! Awesome news. Oscar and Juan Jose, the two men I baptized with elder Burnett earlier on, are getting the Melchizedek priesthood soon! We are super pumped haha. They are flying. Oscar already finished the Book of Mormon and now is going into D&C. I love converts:) So yeah. Life is good. Especially with the peanut butter that I've been eating haha. Thanks again for that beautiful thing.

Anyway so we have changes tomorrow, then on Wednesday we have a zone conference here in Melo that my comp and I get to teach, and meet all the new missionaries so that ll be good. It's not too cold here really, we have had a super mild winter. Right now I'm wearing a short sleeve shirt haha. You should all look on the mission blog, there are a lot of pictures of Melo that the president's son took when they came for the conference a few weeks ago:)

I'm glad dad's surgery went well! That's a blessing, sounds like you've all got your hands full with work, summer stuff, and missionaries in the basement! That's good they got all settled in and stuff. Nicaragua haha cool, I've never met a missionary from there.. there aren't any in this mission. That's good they both speak English! You guys would be in trouble haha. Elder Brassfield goes home in a couple days. Crazy! You´ll have to go to his homecoming and get the hug from him that I'm going to give him tomorrow at changes haha, he´s awesome.
Well, todo bien here in Melo:) I love you all. Chau, gente mía.
